Lisa Hooper

Lisa Tara Hooper is the owner of L. Tara Hooper and Associates Inc., a business specializing in employment and self-employment training and consulting for persons with disabilities. Born with cerebral palsy, Lisa brings personal insights endured by many adversities especially when seeking employment and work related experiences. Her company has been setting the example for equal opportunity employment since 1997. Lisa is extensively involved with community volunteer work. Currently, she is Chair of the Brantford Accessibility Advisory Committee and a member of the Brantford Transit Task Force.

Previously, Lisa has been on numerous committees that focus on improving the lives of people with disabilities. She was an Accessibility Advisor to the former Lt Governor of Ontario, The Honourable David C. Onley as well as a member the Brantford Transit Liaison Committee representing persons with disabilities. Lisa has been the honoured recipient of many awards including the 2013 Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and the 2012 Nova Vita Woman of Distinction Award for International Women’s Day to name a few.


Patti Plant-Babcock

Patti Plant-Babcock has worked as the Office Manager and Employment/Self-Employment Training Consultant for L. Tara Hooper and Associates Inc. for over 17 years! Patti has had many rewarding experiences throughout her career! Patti’s life experience living with Spina Bifida adds a personal perspective where she is able to relate to her client’s challenges when seeking employment.

Patti thoroughly enjoys working with a dedicated and successful team that proudly aims to secure competitive employment or self-employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.


Julie Baranyi

Julie Baranyi is our Employment Specialist. She brings many years of experience in providing direct client services in the areas of employment counseling, client needs assessment, vocational evaluation, employment preparation, and training.

What she enjoys most about her role with L. Tara Hooper and Associates Inc. is that she has the opportunity to meet many wonderfully diverse individuals and develop long standing relationships with employers who realize the importance and rewards of community involvement.


Mary Marsh

Mary is our primary job coach as well as a job developer. She brings many years of experience providing direct support to clients. Mary’s own experiences with essential tremor gives her a strong understanding of the hurdles that persons with disabilities endure not only to get employment but to keep a job.


Mary’s patience, compassion and understanding of each individual, helps to create strong bonds. Mary also creates great working relationships with employers. When Mary is not job coaching, she is talking with potential employers about our program and advocating for our clients.


Karen Bernstein

Karen Bernstein is the newest member of our team.  She brings passion and dedication to her role as a Job Developer.  Karen spends most of her time in the community speaking to employers about the services of L. Tara Hooper and Associates Inc. as well as advocating for our clients.

Thanks to Karen’s savvy sales skills, she has heightened the awareness of many local employers on the business case for hiring people with disabilities. Through her diligent efforts, many partnerships have been created between local businesses and L. Tara Hooper and Associates Inc.
